Coaching Roster 2018

Meet Mike Carlucci

“There is a moment when you watch it all come together; the kids feel it, the parents see it and the coaches knew it was there all along.”– Coach Mike Carlucci

Mike is the Founder and President of the CT Flames since its inception in 2011. His dedication to our young hockey players is both generous and inspiring to watch.

Prior to founding the CT Flames, Mike grew up playing “A” level travel hockey for 8 years, including 6 state titles and 2 New England Regional Championships.  He played on Team Connecticut, 4 years of Trinity Catholic Varsity Hockey, earning 2 State Championships and 1 State title, followed by 2 years of University of Connecticut Club hockey.  Mike’s extensive coaching career includes the Greenwich Blues, Trinity Catholic High School, the New England Generals, and the New Canaan Winter Club.  Mike has also been Hockey Director for the Rinks at Shelton and Travel Hockey Coordinator for the Fairfield Ice Academy.

My hope in creating the Connecticut Flames is to give each player the opportunity to experience such unforgettable and defining moments.

As a coach I have had the opportunity to work with players of all ages and abilities. This has given me a unique perspective into the type of environment that a player needs to develop not only as an individual but as a teammate.  High-energy practices, dedicated coaching, and high caliber competition make up the basis for developing our players.

The Connecticut Flames Youth Hockey Organization operates in Fairfield County, CT however it is not affiliated with any particular program and we do not recruit players.  Our coaches’ backgrounds vary and we attract players from different programs throughout the state of Connecticut and New York. Connecticut Flames tryouts are open to all and players will be assigned to teams based on skill level as determined by our coaches during the tryout process.

The Connecticut Flames is my way of giving back to a sport that has shaped my life in many ways.

Yours in Hockey,

Michael Carlucci
